I like your Xylophone trills. 2Spooky :D
I feel like in your buildup sections are a little underwhelming but overall it's a nice cover. Just watch your mixing and you got a good thing going here.

Notakin responds:

I'm not really a musical person, I'm just dabbling in this, perhaps next time I'll watch for the mixing.

Man, this chord signature is so catchy, it's that magical one that you hear from artists all the time (Sing Don't Stop Believing by Journey, and see what I mean, lol).
Great work with the piece, the midi's sound as clean as your keyboard, and best of luck in the future dude.

This is a really interesting song. It gives off an eerie feel, but at the same time, reminds me of the game Fat Princess, which uses a lot of chime effects with a more medieval sound.

This song definitely has that haunting castle feel, which I think you accomplished awesomely.
Great job man.

Thank you very much, that's exactly what I was going for!

I have to say, I'm not that fond of Dubstep, but I occasionally find the rare gems.
This is one of those gems.

The fact that this may be one of the catchiest songs (to me of course) of the Gorillaz, this remix is really nice to hear. The drums and synths are a definite addition to this song. The "wub-wub" was kept to a minimum, unless I'm missing it, which is not bad at all to me. The addition of the instruments are definitely smooth in addition to the lyrics, and I can't really see anything bad about this remix.

It's really good, actually. I hope to see more like this on the portal some day, hopefully from you, to see whatever else you can create with this type of energetic flow.

You are right about the "wub-wub" being kept to a minimum...in fact, it's not present at all. For me, the defining characteristic of dubstep is the groove, not the "wobble". Thanks for your kind words.

Well, when I first heard this, I though, this needs a super fast awesome dance beat now.. It feels like it could totally lead up to a super fast awesome dance bea... HOLY MOTHER OF MOSES ON A GIANT WHALE!

In all seriousness, this is great, I love everything composed in this track. It's adventurous, and electrically charged with positive emotions. The synths... holy god, the synths... Best I've heard in a long time. Congrats, this is pretty bad ass.

danyool777 responds:

Haha thanks
Glad you liked the electricity and the synths.
and i'm glad you liked it in general <3

Wow, this is stunningly beautiful. I thought this was really creative to, in a sense, evolve as the song did in the series. When the rest of the instruments kick in, I instantly love the bass and synths working together like they do. This goes to show that a short loop in a really important building has such a powerful potential for a remix in the right hands. Kudos to you, this was brilliant.

RobSoundtrack responds:

Kman Thanks so very much; I see you are skilled in picking up the subtle nuances and thus am glad you are one of the few who made it here to listen to the piece!!!
Thanks for your ear, the kind words, and the motivation!!

hehe.

I'm liking the little bass riff you got going there. The synths are very well done too.

I'm just on a roll here you should, but you should call it... "Shat my pants", you know, for the lolz. XD

TROLOLOLOL thanks! :D

You know, oddly enough I don't like this song...

I fucking love it dude! You dared to be adventurous with a low key song, and it works! It has that ominous feel to it, just dark and mischevious. Kind of like a "shit just hit the fan and now you're going to pay" feeling for me. Awesome job dude! Don't be afraid to experiment like this!

Kman

EricFreeman responds:

Haha, thanks so much! Yeah, I definitely am one to experiment. Hell, just listen to pretty much any of my songs :P

Thanks for listening :)

^~^ enjoyed? I think so.

Epic rendition of a Gerudo Valley cover. The riffs and basslines are tight. The drums steal the show for me. I definitely like the idea of changing up the sound of the song, meaning I've heard way too many covers trying to stick to the original instruments, blah blah nyan nyan...

Oh, and about vocals, why don't you just get someone you know with a decent voice to fill in for you. Seems easy enough to fix if you don't like singing.
Welp, I've said too much. Great song overall. Keep it up, extra possitive critisism here...

Kman

Burn7 responds:

See, I don't know anybody with a decent voice. If I did I would definitely ask their ass to do this for me, but I don't have a go-to guy for vocals. I wish I did though.

Thanks for the review! Glad to see yo name once again :D

Well, I like it.

The sone gets pretty catchy pretty quickly, It could have used a little more bass though. Just my personal opinion. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Daydream-Anatomy responds:

Thanks:]

I'm just a guy that likes to make tolerable music.
It's coo, yo.
